Weight Switches
Weight limiting switches for precise load monitoring
A crane overload limit switch is the safety device that keeps a hoist from lifting beyond its rated capacity, protecting the crane structure, the wire rope and the people working below. KRANHAUSS has manufactured crane equipment in Ankara, Turkey since 2004 and exports to more than 50 countries. Our KRLS-01 and KRLS-02 weight switches are built to order: there is no published price list, and every unit is configured around your crane's capacity and control system during the quotation stage.
How Crane Overload Protection Works
The weight switch continuously monitors hook load and interrupts the hoisting motion when the set limit is exceeded, preventing damage to the hoist, rope reeving and steel structure. For procurement engineers, this is one of the most cost-effective safety upgrades on a crane: a single device protects the entire lifting chain. KRLS series load limiters are used on overhead and gantry cranes in steel mills, cement plants, ports, power plants and machinery workshops. Because KRANHAUSS also manufactures crane control panels, integration of the overload switch with a new or existing control system can be engineered from a single source.
Specifying and Ordering Your Load Limiter
Choosing between KRLS-01 and KRLS-02 depends on the crane's rated capacity, the reeving arrangement, the existing electrical infrastructure and the operating environment. When you request a quote, sharing the crane type, lifting capacity and, where available, the control schematic lets our engineers confirm the right configuration quickly. Production runs under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090 certified processes, and products are shipped with CE conformity. Delivery terms and Incoterms are agreed per order. Send us your crane details to receive a tailored quotation for your project.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can an overload switch be retrofitted to our existing crane?
In most cases, yes. Weight switches are routinely retrofitted to cranes already in service. Compatibility depends on the crane's capacity, rope arrangement and control system, so we ask for basic equipment data during the quotation stage. Based on that review, a KRLS-01 or KRLS-02 unit is configured to suit your installation.
What is the difference between KRLS-01 and KRLS-02?
Both models provide precise load monitoring and reliable overload protection. The right choice depends on your application: crane capacity, mounting arrangement and how the switch will integrate with your control system. Since every unit is made to order, our engineers review your crane data and recommend the appropriate model and configuration.
How are pricing and lead time determined?
KRANHAUSS products are made to order, so we do not publish list prices online. Pricing and lead time are confirmed at the quotation stage based on configuration, quantity and delivery requirements. Shipping terms and Incoterms are agreed individually for each order, and you receive a written, itemized offer before committing.
Which certifications does KRANHAUSS hold?
Our manufacturing operates under ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental and OHSAS 18001 occupational safety management systems, with ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090 certification covering welded fabrication. Products are delivered with CE conformity. Current copies of certificates can be provided together with your quotation documents.
